  • 50% Deposit - AUD$ 1,600 (US$ 1,500) - by 15 April 2011- to secure hotel bookings and flights, as airplanes are small and fill in quickly
  • 50% Balance – AUD$ 1,600 (US$ 1,500) - by 15 May 2011
  • USD $ 100 discount – for Early bird full payment – before 15 March 2011

Cancellations:

Please  verify whether you require a Visa to Colombia and if so, ensure that  your  Visa  Stamp  is  valid  for  at  least  90  days after your date  of arrival in the country.

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

The altitude at Bogota is over 2,600 m.a.s.l. (8,580 feet) and we will be travelling and trekking through mountains at altitudes over 3,000 m.a.s.l. (10,000 ft).

We urge those with a history of heart problems or any other health condition that may be exacerbated by altitude or long hours of trekking – to consult your physician before participating in this trip.

Disclaimer: People with heart problems or any health condition that may be exacerbated by altitude, different food and water, or trekking in altitude … come at their own risk.

All participants are advised to:

  • Take out a Comprehensive Travel Insurance (that includes air-lifting in remote areas in case of accident);
  • Bring your own Medicine Kit; and
  • Carry ‘Altitude Sickness’ medicine (‘Sorochil’ or equivalent) – and start taking it 2 days prior to travel.

  • Sub-zero temperature Sleeping Bag
  • Band aids, painkillers (basic first-aid kit) and prescribed medicines for the duration of journey
  • Altitude sickness pills (Sorochil or equivalent)
  • T-shirts and light clothes for use during the warm part of the day; and
  • Very warm clothes for very cold nights
  • Inflatable cushion is ESSENTIAL – for meditations on rocks for over 1hr, and doubles up as a pillow.
